How to Find Your IP Address in Windows 11 (Three Easy Ways)

The IP address (Internet Protocol) of your computer (or other device) is a unique address that identifies your device on a network. Regardless of whether it’s a home or commercial network, each item and site has its own address. Your computer will be given a unique IP address regardless of whether you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network or a wired connection. In this post, we will show you different ways to find your Public IP address in Windows 11.

Each device (computer, phone, tablet, TV, etc.) linked to a local network or the internet is provided a unique IP address, which stands for “Internet Protocol” address. On a network or the internet, it’s used to identify and find a device. The link between devices that send and receive data over a network is managed by IP addresses.

There are a variety of reasons why you might want to know your device’s IP address. For example, if you wish to connect remotely to your computer or allow access to your device over a firewall, you’ll need to know the IP address of the machine.

Types Of  IP Addresses

IP addresses are divided into two categories: public and private. To communicate with other devices on the same network, a private IP address is utilised (like an office network, school network, home, etc.). The router assigns the private IP address to all connected devices automatically. To connect to the rest of the internet, you’ll need a public IP address (which can be static or dynamic).
